The significant progress of the independent left, in unity with other expressions of the student movement who reject the policy of the Chancellor, is essential in the year that the rector Maiorana Dario (Franja Morada), his deputy, Eduardo Seminara (PJ) and general secretary Dario Mas (UCR-millet) are renewing their mandate for another four years. Continuity raises the permanence of the structure of power that Millet installed since 1985 and has been related to the neoliberal reforms in higher education in UNR.
response, the student election results are a clear indication that much of the university community is opposed to the continuity that embody these sectors. Left the polls showed that students do not agree with much of the balance that Maiorana, through its group Gaza Student Residence, came to show our faculty.
Maiorana in 2007 was beginning to assume management of undemocratic and violent, hitting Barrabrava vegan mobilizing students were coming to us in that context of crisis University, demanding his true democratization, working on a list of demands and projects that were in that regard.
After four years, projects, work and share with other sectors and cloisters remain. In these elections were put into play two distinct models of university and vegan students clearly choose, the numbers speak for themselves.
resistance in neoliberal devastation of public universities continue to struggle for true social and political democratization of UNR. In that key, for years working on various projects based on:
- the need to compete the faculty of the UNR , eliminate pro-bono work and fight for wages and decent working conditions for our teachers.
- strive for academic excellence University retaining its autonomy, thus rejecting assessments external entities and the financing of private companies (like Monsanto, or Minera Alumbrera's that Maiorana-Seminara and Residence Strip guarantee).
- keep the contents of the curricula of degree, increasing discharge to the advancement of postgraduate payments. Also, of free training in all levels, because we refuse to accept the privatization of public education.
- transparent administration in charge of co-government bodies. We do not want the discretion of the authorities in managing public funds, but all LA members of the university community know how much money schools operate, what they spend, how are driven works, how the spaces we make money within each faculty (from the Bar to the graduate).
- deepening a policy of student welfare to ensure inclusion and permanence. We can not allow low-income permanent University public for that we need lodging, dining halls, students and ½ ticket to good use and administration of funds for scholarships.
- policy of human rights as ethical option University, to advance in academic trials personnel connected with the last dictatorship military. That is the protagonist in the struggle for memory, truth and justice, not to compensate genocide, as did the current President and Vice Rector. To uphold the right to protest and the autonomy of the organs of self-student organization, not the attack, as with union representatives in Psychology. To reject the funding of extractive companies to destroy our common resources, to struggle for inclusion, and not to close more and more about itself, as is currently the abuse of Heritage Stewardship staff, under the orders of the Rector, is created with the power to decide who enters and who not to the various faculties of UNR.
- A policy of extension from true social commitment, which collapsed the walls that separate University of the reality of our country and our America.
regional From Santiago Pampillón-el grito (HYA), we understand that only a student movement on foot, and l @ s partnership with academics and non-teaching employees, we can move towards to build a real alternative to popular, critical and transformative UNR. For the true social and political democratization University of , we will be 5 centers and thousands of students in the streets!
